For the longest time, it was believed that the solar system is composed of nine planets, with Pluto being the farthest. But things have changed, with Pluto not being qualified enough to be a planet. Schools of though on that are without a doubt many, but what is gaining more attention is the existence of yet another planet to the solar system. Considered to be the 12 member, with the sun and moon inclusive, the planet has been regarded to as Nibiru.
As always dealing with historical texts that are inscribed in ancient languages is always a challenge, and so far, not much information has been derived. What is known so far is that Nibiru is a part of the solar system, but having a much larger orbit with an orbital velocity of 3600 years. Taking that long to surface in the solar system only means that the last time it was seen was a couple of millennia ago, and not much may have been recorded then. However, Sumerian tablets do contain the little information about this planet. After deepened linguistic and archaeological researches, it’s suggested that 2012 is the year when Nibiru will be seen again. Wish one would say that is an astronomical miracle but as it turns out, that is everything but joyful.
The Sumerian tablets strongly suggest that the sighting of this 12th planet in 2012 is catastrophic in every sense of the word. The civilization that had arisen back then was destroyed, and the same is believed to happen to today’s civilization- something many sources are calling the Biblical apocalypse. In addition, the Mayan calendar, which is thought to be more accurate than the Gregorian one, comes to an end in 2012, the 21st day of December to be more precise.
Not too detailed a description has been given about this 12th planet. It’s believed to have a reddish radiance, close to what we have as Mars. However, the planet is self-sustaining like earth, with an atmosphere that protects from the sun’s UV radiation once the planet is close proximity from the sun, and from the cold, once it wanders away. There is life on the planet, with the dwellers being referred to as the Annunaki. They are believed to be the ancestors of the human race. Of course modern scientists alienate all these ideas as pseudoscience, with no practical meaning or application when all the evidence is placed on the table. Their theory is such an extensive oval orbit would evolve to a circular one, or the planet would fly off into space. But since these all has a Mayan origin, some believe that there is truth in what the Sumerians have to present in form of ancient tablets inscribed in a language long forgotten.
Since evidence is something both the Mayan and scientific communities are short of to either dispute, or agree with the aforementioned specifics beyond doubt, time is left to solve the riddle. Once 2012 is here, the believers and non-believers will get to find out once and for all if there really is a 12th planet in our solar system.
